25. Kneewall A framed wall that covers the treads and risers Balusters or cable can be installed on a kneewall. Balusters will be shorter than standard stair installations. Select iron profiles available in 30” specifically for kneewall installations.

17. Volute Newel with Volute (Pictured: xx30) Volute newels include a dowel for installation. Most installations require 42” balusters under a volute. 18. Universal Pin Top Newel with Turnout (Pictured: XX45) A 43” newel can be used on a starting step under a volute or turnout. 19. Intermediate Pin Top Newel with Quarter Turn Gooseneck Cap and Easing (Pictured: xx65) Fitting allows the railing to continue up another flight of stairs. 20. Intermediate Pin Top Newel with Tandem Cap Gooseneck (xx89) Fitting allows the railing to continue straight at the landing. 21. Tandem Cap (xx20) Fittings allows the railing to continue straight over a post. 22. Quarter Turn with Cap (xx21) Fitting allows the railing to turn 90 degrees over a post.
